Our Story

One woman, a garage full of donations, and a community that showed up

The People's Angels started small — and it started with Lyne.

How It Began

The Angels Treasure Cove

Long before there was a shop on Boldon Lane, there was a garage. Founder Lyne began quietly collecting donated food, clothes and household items and passing them on to local families going through hard times — word of mouth, one knock on the door at a time.

That garage became known as The Angels Treasure Cove, and as more people heard what Lyne was doing, more donations, volunteers and referrals followed. What started as one carer and community hero's personal mission grew into The People's Angels CIC.

A Look Back

Inside The Angels Treasure Cove

Before the shop, this was it — a garage packed floor to ceiling with donated toys, gifts and household finds, ready to go straight to a family who needed them.

Meet Our Founder

Lyne — carer, community hero, and the heart of The People's Angels

Everything The People's Angels has become started with one person deciding to help. Lyne's work as a carer in South Tyneside showed her, first-hand, how quickly a family can find itself in crisis — and how far a little practical support can go.

Her tireless efforts, first from her own garage and now from the shop on Boldon Lane, have been recognised with a Pride of Britain Award nomination and a #LoveSouthTyneside Award. But to the families she's helped, she's simply the person who showed up.
